The cherished registration MD 1 sold for £70,100 on eBay today.
The plate (ideal for a Managing Director or someone with the initials MD) received a total of 43 bids in its rise from the starting price of £15,000.
Cherished registrations can be obtained for as little as £100, but quality registrations such as MD 1 can reach tens, and sometimes evens hundreds, of thousands of Po
unds.
Cherished registration plates are sold direct from the DVLA, via auctions (including online auctions) via the motoring press and, of course, by sellers and agents on the internet.
Plates with the number 1 are very sought after and letters before numbers are preferred by most buyers. So MD 1 would be worth more than 1 MD for example.
