National Invites for all

Standards remained high as 47 competitors took part in the 2010 Herefordshire Young Farmers Hedging competition on Sunday 31st January, kindly sponsored by B & J Davies of Bucknell.  Luckily the snow held off to allow members from all around the county to travel to Mr & Mrs Tom Layton’s at Pontypinna, Vowchurch where the event was held.

Longtown YFC reigned supreme claiming victories in 3 out of 4 classes and lifting the Agricultural Valuers Association Trophy at the end of a long day's work.

In the recently introduced "Aided" Class, where competitors can gain experience and help from their elders, the winners, Henry Pursey and Elwyn Powell, will be helping ensure the future of this age old craft.
