The Road Safety Team at Buckinghamshire County Council attended the Bucks County Show to promote a new campaign on the importance of regular eyesight tests for drivers.

Throughout the day members of the public visited the Road Safety display for advice and information or to take part in the Road Safety quiz. Children enjoyed the free activity books and parents were able to get information on ensuring their children’s car seats are correctly fitted. 

The lucky winner of the road safety quiz was Victoria Baldock from Aylesbury. Victoria wins £20 worth of vouchers. The correct answers to the questions are as follows.

• The year when it became compulsory to wear seat belts in the front seat of a vehicle was 1983.
• Jimmy Saville’s well known 1970’s seatbelt slogan was “Clunk Click Every Trip” 
• The distance that you must be able to read the new style number plate is 20 metres.
• The percentage of information needed to drive that comes from your eyes is 90%
